Field Hockey Falls at Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Kaitlin Karns and Emma Adams each scored two goals to lead Stevenson University to a 7-0 win over the Centenary University field hockey team on Saturday afternoon.

The Mustangs scored two in the first, including one by Adams for the early lead.

Karns' first of the day in the second quarter gave Stevenson a 3-0 lead at the half.

Adams and Karns each scored their second of the day in the second half while Brooke Morris had a goal and an assist. The home team used its four second half goals to claim the 7-0 win.

Freshman Isabella Tracy led the Cyclones with three shots, all of which came in the second half of play.

Kelsey Eure earned the start for Stevenson and did not make a save in the first quarter. Hope Nyarady played the second and third periods and made one save. Jamie Fritz played the final period for Stevenson and did not make a save.

Freshman Jenyfer Pereira earned the start for Centenary in goal and made two saves in the first quarter. Freshman Emma Cahill turned away three shots while working the second quarter. Freshman Sydnie Bogan played the final two quarters in net and registered seven saves.

Junior Danika Brandt made a defensive save for the Cyclones as well.

Centenary is back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 24 when the Cyclones travel to Kean for a 7:30 p.m. game.
