MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Sophomore
Kyle Mott scored his team leading 22nd goal of the year to lead the Centenary University men's lacrosse team in a loss at Montclair State in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Wednesday night.
Montclair State jumped out to a 10-0 first quarter lead and earned a 24-1 victory over the Cyclones.
Matt Hammerle had two goals and three assists in the first period as the Red Hawks opened up a 10-0 lead after 15 minutes of action.
Mott got the Cyclones on the board at the 3:41 mark of the second quarter as a good clear led to the goal.
Montclair State scored five in the second quarter and took a 15-1 lead at the half.
The Red Hawks scored nine times in the second half, including two from
Connor Kimball and earned the 24-1 victory.
Jack Cardew started the game for Montclair State and made two saves in the first half to earn the win in goal. Sophomore
Ryan Lacamera finished with 12 saves in the loss for Cyclones.
Hammerle finished with two goals and five assists to lead the Red Hawks while
Dan Bellezza contributed three goals and one assist.
In addition to Mott's goal, the Cyclones got 13 faceoff wins and 13 ground balls from junior
Chris Howell.
The Cyclones wrap up the regular season when they host Stockton on Tuesday, April 23 at 4 p.m.
