Field Hockey Tripped Up At Cedar Crest

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Freshman Sydnie Bogan made a career-high 17 saves put it was not enough as the Centenary University field hockey team fell at Cedar Crest College on Saturday morning in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play. 

Bogan made 13 saves in the first half, including 10 in the second quarter but the Falcons took a 4-0 lead at the half.

Brice Gardner scored the only goal of the first quarter before Kiley Marone had a goal and an assist for the Falcons in the three-goal second quarter.

Alexx Miller scored in the third quarter to push Cedar Crest's lead to 4-0.

Freshman Michaela Thiessen fired off a shot in the fourth quarter for the Cyclones but was unable to knock it home.

Cassandra Reijgers was not forced to make a save for the Falcons in the win. Bogan added five saves in the second half to give her 17 for the game. Her 17 saves are tied for the third most by a CSAC player in a single-game this season.

Centenary is back in action as it travels to Drew on Tuesday, Oct. 22 for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
