Field Hockey Stumbles Against Keystone

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Freshman Jordan Vandermark fired off a pair of shots on goal but it was not enough as the Centenary University field hockey team fell to Keystone College by a 3-0 score in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on a wet and rainy Wednesday afternoon.

The two teams battled back and forth until the 11th minute as Savanna Robinson scored for the first goal of the game for Keystone.

The Giants maintained that lead until the 49th minute as Miranda Mascia pushed the visitors' advantage to 2-0 with her goal. Mascia's goal came off a pass from Julia Blahut.

Robinson struck one more time in the 55th minute as Keystone claimed the 3-0 victory.

Megan Novak made two saves to earn the win in goal for Keystone. Freshman Sydnie Bogan had eight saves for the Cyclones.

Robinson finished with two goals for Keystone.

Vandermark had two shots for the Cyclones while freshman Michaela Thiessen and sophomore Keirra Doyle each had one shot.

The Cyclones are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19 when they travel to Cedar Crest for an 11 a.m. game.
