John Garriques reached the 100 coaching win milestone with a 33-14 win over the Aggies of Delaware Valley University.
The Aggies have always been tough competition for the Cyclones, with their last meeting during the 2015-2016 season ending in a loss for the Cyclones, but tonight Centenary showed up and was ready for the match of their life.
The Cyclones got off to a slow start tonight with a pair of losses at 125 and 133 pounds, but #7
Max Nauta put the Cyclones on the board with a 4:05 pin against #8 Tim Ambacher at 141 pounds. The team kept the momentum going with #10 Chris Muce also grabbing a pin against Devon Nole in 4:27 at 149 pounds. At 165 pounds,
Alec Donovan also pinned his opponent in 4:11.
After a night off on Tuesday,
Jordan Juliano picked up right where he left off with a 7-4 decision against Elias Vega at 174 pounds.
Etiini Udott and
Anthony Colabella both picked up pins this evening in 1:23 and 6:31 respectively.
Deserving of an honorable mention is 184 pound
Jeremy Nurnberger who ended regulation 6-6, and was taken down in sudden victory against Nicholas Bord.
Also taking the mat for the Cyclones were
Tyreek Staton,
Bobby Demeter, and
Tom Hinz.
The Cyclones will return to the mat on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7:00pm against the Royals of Scraton University and the Dolphins of Mount Saint Vincent University at home.
