Bridgewater, Mass. (January 27, 2018) – The Centenary University wrestling team competed at the Metro/NEWA Duals and ended their day with 3 wins to advance to a 7-2 overall record. Their newest wins came from opponents Bridgewater State University, #20 Roger Williams University, and Williams College.
The Cyclones were led by captains
Max Nauta,
Christopher Muce, and
Etiini Udott who all went undefeated on the day. Nauta collected two technical falls with scores of 16-0 and 19-2, and a 1:47 pin from Matt Elias of Roger Williams. Muce collected a pin from Logan Laron of Bridgewater State in 4:55, as well as two decisions. Udott came out with a forfeit and two pins in 5:45 and 1:29.
Also putting points on the board was 174-pound
Jordan Juliano who added two major decisions and a decision to his new record of 7-2. 125-pound
Tyreek Staton also was victorious with a pair of decisions over opponents from Roger Williams and Williams.
Alec Donovan picked up wins by pin and major decision, while
Nick Rivera and
Anthony Colabella each pinned one of their opponents.
Bobby Demeter,
Tom Hinz,
Jeremy Nurnberger, and
Anthony Colabella also took the mat for the Cyclones today.
Head Coach
John Garriques and the Cyclones will return to the mat on Tuesday, February 6 in Hackettstown, N.J., when they take on King's College of Pa. at 7:00pm.
