Nolan Gottshall (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River East) netted the game-winning goal with 3:42 remaining in the fourth quarter to keep the Centenary University men's lacrosse team undefeated with a 5-4 victory over Kean University on Saturday afternoon.
Gottshall totaled two goals, three groundballs and a caused turnover for the Cyclones who improve to 3-0 overall. Matt Brodley scored a goal and scooped up five groundballs for the Cougars who fall to 1-2 overall.
Centenary trailed 1-0 just three minutes into the contest, before Gottshall and sophomore
Chris Snow (Roxbury, N.J. / Roxbury) scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead with 7:05 remaining. Snow finished with three points, including assisting on goals by senior
Michael Balsamo (Jackson, N.J. / Jackson Memorial) and junior
Michael Muff (Havertown, Pa. / Haverford) in the second quarter. Centenary held a 4-3 lead before the Cougars netted a goal to even the game at halftime.
In the second half, the game remained scoreless for nearly 27 minutes before Gottshall netted a goal at the 3:42 mark in the fourth. After sophomore
