SCRANTON, Pa. (Sept. 27, 2016)- Sophomore
Amanda Benoit (Hazlet, N.J. / Raritan) scored the game-tying goal, as the Centenary University women's soccer team dropped a double overtime thriller to Marywood University, 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
Julie Youngman scored the game-winner for the Pacers who improve to 3-4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Freshman
Justine Stefura (Port Reading, N.J. / WoodBridge) made a career-high 13 saves for the Cyclones who fall to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the CSAC.
The Pacers attacked early, as Stefura made five of her six first half saves in the opening 20 minutes. Marywood finally answered in the 29
th minute, as Emily Gerbehy netted a goal off a free kick from 25 yards out. The Pacers held a 1-0 lead at intermission.
In the second half, Centenary was looking to even the contest, while Marywood was looking to extend their lead. The Cyclones responded in the 79
th minute, as Benoit converted on a free kick opportunity to even the game at 1-1.
After 90 minutes of play, the game remained deadlocked at 1-1. Centenary attempted to put the game away early in the extra session, but shots by junior

Kara LaPolice (Hopewell, N.J. / Hunterdon Central) didn't connect. Stefura made another three saves in the final six minutes to force a second overtime.
Marywood would break the 1-1 tie in the second overtime, as Youngman scored off an assist Desi Rill in the 107
th minute.
Marywood edged Centenary on shots (25-18) and shots on goal (15-9), while the Cyclones edged the Pacers on saves (13-8), and corner kicks (7-6). Benoit and freshman
Chloe Christopher (Flemington, N.J. / Hunterdon Central) both recorded five shots apiece for the Cyclones. Youngman tallied a game-high eight shots, while Aly Moyer made eight saves in the victory for the Pacers.
