Volleyball Takes Set in Loss to Cedar Crest


HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Sept. 24, 2016)- Junior Amanda Fullem (Linden, N.J. / Mother Seton) finished with a career-high eight aces, six kills and two blocks, as the Centenary University volleyball team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference match to Cedar Crest College on Saturday afternoon.

Nicole Hill finished with 14 kills for the Falcons who improve to 4-5 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC. Sophomore Zoey Woody (North Brunswick, N.J. / North Brunswick) finished with 15 assists, nine digs and five kills for the Cyclones who fall to 1-12 overall and 0-4 in the CSAC.

The Falcons and Cyclones split the first two sets, before Cedar Crest closed out the match with two close sets. In Centenary's set two victory, the Cyclones actually trailed 8-4, before Fullem served for 10 straight points, including four service aces. Maggie Olock attempted to rally the Falcons, as she served for five straight points late in the set, but the Cyclones held on for the victory.

Senior Jamie Bierbaum (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) finished with seven kills and seven digs, while sophomore Ashley Bierbuam (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) added six digs, three assists and an ace. Steph Barr finished with 27 assists, 11 digs and two aces, while Jacey Ludham and Breanna Fields added 14 and 11 digs apiece.  

Head Coach Kelsey Walter and the Cyclones will return to action in Clarks Summit, Pa. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, against the Defenders of Clarks Summit University at 7:00 p.m.
