LA PLUME, Pa. (Sept. 17, 2016)- Sophomore Zoey Woody (North Brunswick, N.J. / North Brunswick) finished with eight assists and four kills as the Centenary University volleyball team dropped its Colonial States Athletic Conference opener to Keystone College, 3-0 on Friday evening.

Taylor Beatty finished with seven kills for the Giants, who improve to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in the CSAC. Sophomore Giani Montalvo (Elizabeth, N.J. / Elizabeth) finished with three kills and two aces for the Cyclones who fall to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in the CSAC.

The Giants dominated the first and third sets, as they recorded above a .400 hitting percentage in both sets. Centenary nearly took the second set but the Giants Pamela Heitman served for five straight points midway through the set, allowing Keystone to pull away late.

Sophomore Ashley Bierbaum (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) finished with six digs and two aces, while senior Jamie Bierbaum (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) totaled three kills. Malley Bowen totaled 19 assists, while Heitman added seven aces in the victory.

Head Coach Kelsey Walter and the Cyclones will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 17, hosting Manhattanville College and Notre Dame of Maryland University in a tri-match beginning at 10:00 a.m.
