ROSEMONT, Pa. (Feb. 20, 2016)- Sophomore
Myles McLeod (Teaneck, N.J. / Teaneck) finished with a game-high 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting and six rebounds as the Centenary College men's basketball team closed the regular season with a 84-76 victory over Rosemont College.
Senior
Hanif Holloway (North Plainfield, N.J. / North Plainfield) finished with 12 points and five rebounds for the Cyclones who improve to 14-11 overall and 10-8 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Marcus Thomas finished with 22 points for the Ravens who fall to 12-13 overall and 10-8 in the CSAC.
McLeod scored 18 of his 24 points in the first half, including scoring 11 straight points in a four minute span to give Centenary a 24-19 lead with 9:51 remaining. After a layup by Holloway gave the Cyclones their largest lead of the first half at 29-21, the Ravens responded with seven straight points from Kyle Lafferty to dwindle the lead down to one at 29-28 with 3:41 remaining. Despite the late push from Rosemont, Centenary held a 35-31 advantage at intermission.
The Cyclones torched the nets in the second half, as they shot 68.0% (17-for-25) from the floor. Junior
Zachary Duymich (Millstone Township, N.J. / Allentown) scored 11 points and senior
Anthony Bailey (Florida, N.Y. / SS Seward) scored eight points as the Cyclones never trailed in the second half. Despite not relinquishing the lead in the second half, Thomas made it difficult for the Cyclones to completely pull away. He poured in 17 of his 22 points in the second stanza, including shooting 8-for-11 from the charity stripe.
Rosemont cut the lead down to 72-70 with 2:52 remaining, but the Cyclones iced the game from the free throw line in the final minutes. Sophomore
Rashaan Spencer (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive) went 3-for-4 and Holloway went 2-for-2 down the stretch

Tim Fusina and the Cyclones will return to action on Monday, Feb. 22 in the Quarterfinals of the CSAC tournament against the #4 Ravens of Rosemont College.
