LANGHORNE, Pa. (Feb. 1, 2016)- Sophomore
Myles McLeod (Teaneck, N.J. / Teaneck) recorded a new career-high with 36 points and 10 rebounds as the Centenary College men's basketball team rolled to a 92-80 victory over Cairn University.
McLeod shot 68.8% (11-for-16) from the field and 86.7% (13-15) from the free-throw line for the Cyclones who improve to 11-8 overall and 7-5 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. Gerroid Doughty finished with 30 points and nine rebounds for the Highlanders who fall to 7-12 overall and 3-9 in the CSAC.
McLeod and the Cyclones started fast, as the sophomore forward scored seven of his 20 first half points during a 16-3 run over the first six minutes. The Highlanders responded with a 21-9 run that cut the Cyclones lead down to 27-24 with 6:47 remaining.
Junior
Kyle Smith (Warwick, N.Y. / Burke Catholic) provided a spark off the bench with eight points, including making two triples that propelled Centenary to a 45-33 halftime advantage.
The Highlanders had no answer for McLeod in the second half, as he went 5-for-7 from the floor and 6-for-8 from the free throw line. Cairn didn't go quietly as the Highlanders erased Centenary's 13 point lead down to three at 74-71 with 6:11 remaining.
The Cyclones weathered the storm in the final minutes with their defense. Junior
Zachary Duymich (Millstone Township, N.J. / Allentown) made some big plays down the stretch, which included a three pointer off an assist from senior
Anthony Bailey (Florida, N.Y. / SS Seward) followed by a steal that led to a fastbreak layup for sophomore
Rashaan Spencer (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive) .
Bailey finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Smith totaled 11 points. Collzao finished with 16 points and four rebounds for the Highlanders.

Tim Fusina and the Cyclones will return to action in Scranton, Pa. on Wednesday, Feb. 3 against the Pacers of Marywood University at 7:00 p.m.
