HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Oct. 24, 2016)- Sophomore
Zoey Woody (North Brunswick, N.J. / North Brunswick) finished with 11 assists and five kills as the Centenary University volleyball team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference match to Marywood University on Monday evening.
Peri Sheerin finished with 10 kills for the Pacers who improve to 15-16 overall and 8-3 in the CSAC. Sophomore
Giani Montalvo (Elizabeth, N.J. / Elizabeth) totaled nine digs and three kills for the Cyclones who fall to 1-23 overall and 0-10 in the CSAC.
Marywood averaged a .391 attacking percentage, including posting a .696 attacking percentage in the Pacers set two victory. The Cyclones stayed in the positive with a .028 attacking percentage.
Centenary trailed 11-4 in the opening set when senior
Jamie Bierbaum (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) and junior
Amanda Fullem (Linden, N.J. / Mother Seton) recorded back-to-back kills to cut their deficit to 12-8. Bierbaum would later serve for three straight points in the set, but Marywood closed out the set with three straight points of their own. Marywood would cruise in the final two sets to sweep the match.
Bierbaum totaled four kills, while Fullem added five digs and two assists. Senior
Na'imah Spells (Irvington, N.J. / Irvington) finished with seven digs and four assists, while sophomore
Krysta Astengo (Clifton, N.J. / Clifton) tallied a block. Danielle Delulio finished with 27 assists, four kills, and four aces, while Mallorie Deschaine tallied 14 digs and nine kills.
