HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Oct. 26, 2016)- Senior
Na'imah Spells (Irvington, N.J. / Irvington) finished with a season-high 13 digs as the Centenary University volleyball team dropped its final contest of the regular season to Immaculata University, 3-0 on Senior Night.
Arden Vizzard finished with 12 digs and 11 kills for the Mighty Macs who improve to 9-14 overall and 6-4 in the CSAC. Sophomore
Zoey Woody (North Brunswick, N.J. / North Brunswick) finished with 14 assists and three aces for the Cyclones who close the regular season at 1-24 overall and 0-11 in the CSAC. Â
The Cyclones played a strong match for the entire length of the evening, despite the scoreboard. Centenary was neck and neck with Immaculata in set one, as junior
Amanda Fullem (Linden, N.J. / Mother Seton) recorded a kill and senior
Jamie Bierbaum (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) tallied an ace to even the set at 17-17. Immaculata rallied to win the set behind seven straight points from Molly Truitt.
Centenary wouldn't go quietly, as they traded the lead early in set two before six straight points for Gabrielle Guerrera gave the Mighty Macs a set two victory. In set three, Woody gave Centenary an early 3-0 lead with back-to-back aces, but Immaculata once again found a way to climb back into the set. Â Â
Bierbaum finished with eight digs and five kills, while Fullem totaled six kills and two aces. Guerrera finished with a match-high 13 kills, while Olivia Zdradzinski totaled 14 assists and eight digs.
