LA PLUME, Pa. (Jan. 20, 2016) - On Wednesday evening, the Centenary College men's basketball team bounced back from Saturday's loss with an impressive 84-69 victory over Keystone College.
Sophomore
Rashaan Spencer (Hackettstown, N.J. / Mount Olive) led the way with 28 points on 9-for-19 shooting and seven rebounds. Sophomore
Myles McLeod (Teaneck, N.J. / Teaneck) and senior
Deshawn Batts (Piscataway, N.J. / Pacific) also broke double-digits with Batts scoring 11, while McLeod had a monster double-double performance with 18 points and 21 rebounds.
The Cyclones had control from the start, as they took a 15-6 lead just four minutes in, and then extended that advantage to 42-28 by halftime. Keystone wasn't able to get any momentum started, as Centenary would answer back with a couple of timely baskets.
The second half was more of the same as the Cyclones held a 20-point lead throughout most of the half until Keystone got a little bit going towards the end, but couldn't overcome the massive deficit.
Junior
Paul Jones (Trenton, N.J. / Ewing) added nine points and six rebounds, while senior
Anthony Bailey (Florida, N.Y. / SS Seward) scored eight points and grabbed three boards.
Head Coach
Tim Fusina and the Cyclones will return to action in Langhore, Pa. on Saturday, Jan. 23
rd against the Highlanders of Cairn University at 3:00 p.m.
