Full Effort Helps Wrestling Defeat Hunter


HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Jan. 15th, 2016)- The Centenary College wrestling team put on a full display as five wrestlers recorded victories in the 36-9 defeat of the Hawks of Hunter College.

Junior Josh Sibblies (Newton, N.J. / Newton) recorded the only pinfall of the evening in a 3:54 defeat of Nick Brutus at 174, while freshman Christopher Muce (Monroe Township, N.J. / Monroe Township) came away with a 6:34 technical fall over William Heine at 157.

Juniors Joey Ragsdale (Bethlehem Twp., N.J. / North Hunterdon) and Jeff Rottingen (Ramsey, N.J. / Ramsey) both posted decisions in their matches at 141 and 184. Rottingen had a major decision over David Naupari ,13-1 while Ragsdale defeated Maksimilian Garkusha in a decision, 11-4.

Head Coach John Garriques and the Cyclones will return to action on Sunday, Jan 17th against the University of Scranton and Ursinus College in a tri-match hosted by Scranton.
