HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Sept. 5, 2015)- Sophomore
Kaitlin Marold (Edison, NJ / Edison) made a career-high 15 saves as the Centenary College women's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest to the Cardinals of Catholic University, 2-1, this afternoon at J.E. Reeves Jr. Field.
Lindsay Aleman made a game winning penalty kick in the 59
th minute, which helped the Cardinals improve to 2-0. Freshman
Kara LaPolice (Hopewell, N.J. / Hunterdon Central) netted the Cyclones' lone goal, as they fall to 1-1.
Centenary proved to be the more aggressive team in the opening 12 minutes. LaPolice would put the Cyclones on the scoreboard first, as she played a deep thru ball by senior
Becky D'Angelo (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) for the 1-0 lead. After that the tide changed, as the Cardinals recorded 17 unanswered shots. Marold did her best to help the Cyclones hold the 1-0 halftime lead, as she made six saves.
In the second half, Catholic finally responded with a tip-in goal by Taylor Pisk to even the match at 1-1 in the 55
th minute.
Marold continued to work hard in the second half, as she recorded another eight saves. Despite that impressive performance, Marold fell to 1-1, while Lexi Halperin improved to 2-0. Catholic edged the Cyclones in all categories including shots, shots on goal, corner kicks and even off sides.

th, against the Rangers of Drew University in the 2015 Cyclone Kickoff Classic. The match is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start.
