Vanessa McKellar (Annadale, N.J. / North Hunterdon) finished with a double-double of 17 digs and 14 kills as the Centenary College volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College, 3-2, this evening.
Christolia Butler finished with 19 kills, 13 digs and four blocks for the Bulldogs, who improve to 5-9 overall, while the junior
Na'imah Spells (Irvington, N.J. / Irvington) recorded a season-high 29 digs and four aces for the Cyclones, who fall to 1-9 overall.
The Bulldogs and the Cyclones traded the first four sets. Centenary won the odd numbered sets (25-20 and 25-22) and Brooklyn claimed the even numbered sets (25-15 and 25-11). The Cyclones posted a positive attacking percentage in the winning sets (.182 and .067) and a negative attacking percentage in losing sets (-.095 and -.067). Freshman
Ashley Bierbaum (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) finished with 15 digs, eight assists and three kills, while fellow classmate
Zoey Woody (North Brunswick, N.J. / North Brunswick) led the Cyclones with 15 assists and totaled two aces. Crystal Wu finished with a match-high 27 assists, while Sasha Roopchand finished with 16 digs, eight kills and seven aces.
