Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary women's lacrosse team dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference game to Marywood University, 18-4. With the loss, the Cyclones fall to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in league play, while the Pacers improve to 6-4 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the CSAC.
The Pacers amassed a 7-0 lead midway through the first half before the Cyclones got on the board off
Abby Voelkner's first goal of the day. Centenary's
Carlie Schmitt would also score a goal in the first half, but the Pacers netted two more goals as well to head into the break with a 9-2 advantage.
After the break, Marywood continued to control the offense and the momentum scoring three consecutive goals to open the second half (12-2). Centenary's
Kristen Rabenstein netted her first goal of the game off a feed from Voelkner to stop the Pacer run (12-3). Marywood would add two more goals before Voelkner earned her 23
rd goal of the season off a pass from
Devin Sutko who also registered her 18
th assist of the season.
In the final eight minutes, the Pacers would score four more goals to seal the victory.
Voelkner paced the Cyclones with two goals and one assist, while Schmitt and Rabenstein added a goal each. Centenary's all-time assist leader,
Devin Sutko, recorded three assists today.
Erin Healy led all scorers with five goals and one assist, while Stacy Griffing tallied four and an assist. Natalie Burke netted three goals and three assists for six points, while Amanda Khozouri scored two.
The Cyclones will hit the road to face Immaculata University April 9
th @ 4:00pm.
