Immaculata, PA – The Centenary College (1-6, 1-5 CSAC) women's lacrosse team were defeated by Immaculata University (6-5, 4-2 CSAC) in a Colonial States Athletic Conference game, 17-5.
In the first nine minutes of play, Immaculata surmounted to an 8-0 advantage before Centenary's
Abby Voelkner stopped the bleeding at the 15 minute mark.
The Mighty Macs tacked on another three goals late in the half to widen the gap (11-1). With less than a minute left, Centenary's Voelkner and
Devin Sutko netted a pair of goals as they headed into the break trailing 11-3.
Two minutes into the second half, Immaculata took control of the offensive end scoring three consecutive goals in a four minute span for the 14-3 lead. Centenary's Voelkner and Sutko added another pair of goals midway through the half to round out the Cyclone scoring.
Before the final whistle, the Mighty Macs netted three more goals to earn the 17-5 victory.
Voelkner finished the day with three goals and currently leads the team with 26 goals on the season. Two Mighty Macs led all scorers as Hannah Verrecchia and Allison Jakavick eached tallied four goals apiece.
The Cyclones will look to regroup as they head to Radnor, PA to face Cabrini College April 11
th @ 1:00pm.
