Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary men's lacrosse team earned a huge victory on senior day defeating Immaculata University by a final score of 14-3. With the win, the Cyclones improve to 3-9 overall and 2-3 in league play, while the Mighty Macs fell to 3-9 and 2-3 in the CSAC.
After an early goal by
Michael Muff, and an equalizer by Immaculata,
Nolan Gottshall regained the lead for the Cyclones with his first goal of the game on an unassisted shot with 6:25 remaining in the first period. Gottshall's goal was exactly what the Cyclones needed, as only a minute later,
Anthony Biango scored on a wrap around by slipping it through Mighty Macs goaltender Christian Custodio for a 3-1 Cyclones advantage.
Centenary wrapped up the first period with Gottshall scoring another goal with 4:35 remaining to give the Cyclones a 4-1 lead heading into the second period.
In a relatively slow second period, Centenary tacked on two more goals.
Trevor Krupinski made it 5-1 Cyclones only 4:17 into the period, and with 14 seconds remaining in the period
Anthony Biango rifled a shot to give Centenary a 6-1 lead going into halftime.
After the break, the Cyclones continued to assert their dominance with Gottshall scoring only 30 seconds into the third period for his third of the game. Centenary would go on to score five more unanswered goals throughout the period coming from
Michael Muff,
Michael Balsamo,
Trevor Krupinski,
Conor Martin, and
Anthony Biango for a 12-1 advantage.
The Mighty Macs would try to get back into the game by scoring two consecutive goals only 17 seconds apart halfway through the fourth period but the deficit proved to be too much for the Mighty Macs. Muff and Krupinski would add two more goals in the final minutes as the Cyclones ease past Immaculata.
Muff, Trupinski, Gottashall and Biango led the Cyclone offense with three goals apiece, while Balsamo and Martin added one. They also capitalized on the extra-man opportunities converting three times, while also outshooting the Mighty Macs 43-13.
Prior to the start of today's game, the Centenary Athletic Department honored their seven seniors who have dedicated their time to the men's lacrosse program.

Brock Mininger and
Nick Perkalis were all honored today.
With a playoff berth at stake, the Cyclones will visit Rosemont College Saturday April 18
th beginning @ 7:00pm.
