Hackettstown, NJ – The Centenary men's lacrosse team fell to No. 11 ranked, Cabrini Cavaliers in this afternoon's Colonial States Athletic Conference game. With the loss, the Cyclones fall to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in league play, while the Cavaliers improve to 5-4 and 1-0 in the CSAC.
In the first quarter, Centenary's
Michael Muff opened the scoring with his 10
th goal of the season at the 9:59 mark. The Cavalier's would tie the game (1-1) late in the first when Michael Leyden netted a shot from Joey Dalfo.
Cabrini would tack on three more goals to end the half with a 4-1 advantage and add another three after the break to widen the gap (7-1).
To end the drought, Muff netted his second unassisted goal of the day with seconds to spare in the third (7-2).
In the fourth, Cabrini pushed the lead back up to six (8-2) after Jake Donohoe scored at the 8:42 mark. Midway through the quarter, Centenary's
Trevor Krupinski fired back-to-
back goals to spark a late run (8-4), but would come up short after another Cabrini goal stopped the momentum.
Centenary goalie,
Kevin Switzer made 25 saves while also recording an assist on Krupinski's first goal.
The Cyclones look to get back in the win column as they play host to Gwynedd Mercy March 28
th @ 12pm.
