Zoey Woody (North Brunswick, N.J. / North Brunswick) posted a career-high eight kills and a career-high eight service aces as the Centenary College volleyball team recorded its first Colonial States Athletic Conference victory over the Highlanders of Cairn University, 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-17)
Woody added six assists and six digs for the Cyclones who improve to 2-12 overall and 1-4 in the CSAC. Abigail Litman finished with a team-high seven kills, while Haley Sheehan had six service aces and six digs for the Highlanders who fall 0-15 overall and 0-7 in the CSAC.
The Cyclones posted a .231 hitting percentage, including recording a .471 hitting percentage in the second set. Freshman
Giani Montalvo (Elizabeth, N.J. / Elizabeth) had her best night of the season, as she posted career-highs in kills (7), assists (3), service aces (3) and hitting percentage (.286), while junior
Na'imah Spells (Irvington, N.J. / Irvington) had a match-high 10 digs and four service aces. Freshman
Valentina Suizzo (North Haledon, N.J. / Eastern Christian) totaled a career-high four kills, including notching her first kill as a Cyclones.
This victory snaps a 16 game conference losing streak, which dates back to Oct. 26
th, 2013, and is also the first CSAC victory for Coach Walter.
