DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Centenary College volleyball team was swept by Delaware Valley College in a non-conference matchup. Set scores were 11-25, 15-25 and 15-25.
While Centenary remains winless at 0-19, Delaware Valley improves to 3-11 on the season.
In the first two sets, Delaware Valley took complete control as the Cyclones fell behind early in both sets unable to cut the deficit. In the third set, Centenary came out strong and held leads of 6-1, 7-2 and 10-8. However, Delaware Valley fought back and scored 17 of the final 22 points in the set to run away with the three-game sweep of the Cyclones.
Centenary's offense was led by
Myriah Cockburn with a team best four kills, six aces and 10 digs. Cockburn currently leads the team in digs (204) and aces with (29).
Brianne Allender chipped in three kills and three digs. Setter,
Na'imah Spells handed out nine assists raising her total to 174.
Next up for the Cyclones is a home match against CSAC foe Immaculata University Saturday October 4th beginning at 1pm.
