Hackettstown NJ- On Saturday night, Centenary (3-4) lost a hard-fought CSAC matchup against big rival Cabrini (5-3) at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center by the final score of 91-72.

The 19 point defeat wasn't at all indicative of how Centenary played as they hung with Cabrini throughout much of the game and especially in the first half. Centenary held a 15-10 lead after the first seven minutes after a 10-3 run, however, Cabrini would answer back with a run of their own (10-0) to regain the lead (15-20) midway through the first half.Â

After only a seven point deficit (43-36) coming into the second half, Cabrini exploded into a 17-5 run to increase their lead to 13 (57-44). The teams would continue to trade baskets from that point but Cabrini wouldn't allow Centenary back into the game.

Josh Case had his best game of the season as he netted 15 points on (6-of-11) shooting while grabbing seven rebounds for the Cyclones.
Andy Charles scored 14 points (3-for-5) on the night and added in three rebounds while Myles Mcleod finished with 12 points shooting (4-for-12) and six rebounds.

For Cabrini it was four players who did majority of the damage. Aside from Jair Green finishing with 10 points (4-6), Howard Blake III scored 16 points (6-12), Aaron Walton-Moss was one assist short of a triple-double as he finished with 17 points (6-14), 15 rebounds, and nine assists. Tyheim Monroe laid in 18 points and the big scorer for Cabrini was Vinny Walls who tallied a game-high 23 points on (8-of-14) shooting in the game in which 17 came in the first half.

Djovan Beausejour netted eight points,
Zachary Duymich scored six points, and
Paul Jones knocked in five points while grabbing three rebounds in Centenary's defeat.

Centenary shot 36.7% (22-60) from the field, while Cabrini shot 51.5% on (35-for-68) shooting. The Cyclones struggled from deep as they shot the three-ball at 23.8% (5-21) while Cabrini knocked in 40% on (8-of-20) shooting.

The Cyclones will defer from conference play for three games in which they will travel to play Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh NY @ 7:00 PM on Monday.
