Hackettstown NJ- On Monday afternoon, at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center, the Centenary men's basketball team evened their overall record (5-5) with a 93-77 victory over Penn State Abington (1-6).

The Cyclones started strong in this contest, and they were led by
Andy Charles who grabbed his first double-double of the season going 4-for-16 from the field garnering 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Josh Case also had a solid game for the Cyclones as the Senior Center went 6-for-10 from the field for 13 points and five rebounds.

Zachary Duymich,
Paul Jones, and
Rashaan Spencer also all knocked in at least 10 points with Duymich hitting 4-of-5 including 3-for-3 from the arch for 11 points. Jones also nailed 5-out of his 6 shots for 11 points, and Spencer shot 4-of-9 for 10 points including five rebounds in the game.

The teams traded baskets for the first eight minutes of the first half before Spencer hit a deep three-ball which sparked a 15-4 run. The Cyclones took over the remainder of the half and headed to the locker room with a 50-31 advantage.

Midway through the second half, the Cyclones continued to dominate as they went on an 18-6 run to gain an 84-54 advantage which marked their largest lead of the day. Centenary never looked back as they maintained a double digit lead for the remainder of regulation.

Defensive play helped the Cyclones throughout the contest as they limited Penn State on the offensive end. Â Centenary dominated the paint and the glass outscoring the Nittany Lions 50-18 and outrebounding them 54-32.

Penn States' Max Alton and Dequan Jackson valiantly held there team in the game as they each scored 19 points.

The Cyclones simply out-shot Penn State throughout the contest as Centenary went 48.6% from the field and 42.9% from the arch. Penn State could only produce 39.7% from the field and 31% from three.

With Centenary finishing off their non-conference matchups, they will only see their CSAC rivals from this point forward starting with Neumann University on January 7
th at the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center in Hackettstown, NJ @ 7:00 P.M.
