An accomplished collegiate wrestler, Gino Flurri joined the Centenary University wrestling program as an assistant coach in the fall of 2020.
Flurri was a member of the Rider University wrestling team from 2015 until 2020. He helped Rider win a pair of conference championships (EWL in 2015-16 and Mac East Division 2019-20). Flurri served as a two-year captain of the Division I program, who finished first at the Virginia Duals in 2020 and also knocked off No. 6 Minnesota.
Flurri earned NCAA Academic All-American honors in his final season and also took home the Fred Henson Memorial Award. He earned 56 career victories while competing at 149 and 157 pounds. In 2018-19, he finished third at 157 pounds at the EWL Championship and that same year, he finished fifth at the Princeton Open at 149 pounds.
Flurri received his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and History from Rider in December 2019. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Athletic Leadership from Rider and also working to complete a Special Education Provisional certificate.
He has worked in the classroom teaching grades 6-9 while working on his degree.
