MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The Centenary University men's soccer team faced a tough road test Monday night, falling to Montclair State University, 7-0, at MSU Soccer Park.
The Cyclones generated an early opportunity when Shane Gambarony put a shot on goal in the sixth minute, but Montclair State broke through in the 11th minute and carried a 5-0 advantage into halftime.
Centenary continued to battle in the second half, holding the Red Hawks to two goals over the final 45 minutes. Gambarony finished with two shots on goal, while Aedan Dorwart and Keegan Samson each added an attempt on frame. Gavin Veres made 12 saves in 76 minutes of action before Jimmy Curran closed out the match in goal.
The Cyclones finished with five shots, four of which were on goal, while recording three corner kicks. Centenary moves to 2-6-1 on the season.
