HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University women's volleyball team fell to Cairn University, 3-0, Tuesday evening inside the John M. Reeves Student Recreation Center.
Cairn took the opening two sets, 25-15 and 25-17, before the Cyclones turned in their strongest performance of the night in the third. Centenary recorded 14 kills while hitting .333 in the frame and battled the Highlanders to the finish before falling, 25-23.
Poppy Skjonnemand led the Cyclones offensively with 13 kills while adding two service aces. Gabriella Miller finished with eight kills and three aces, while Helen Bilomasur added four kills without an attacking error.
Adrienne Xiao directed the offense with 14 assists and added 12 digs. Rey Bennett led the defensive effort with 15 digs while contributing five assists and three service aces.
Centenary finished with 26 kills, 24 assists, 51 digs and nine service aces. The loss moves the Cyclones to 1-4 on the season.
