HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Elizabeth Fogarty scored her second goal of the season as the Centenary University women's soccer team opened conference play with a 6-1 loss to Immaculata University Saturday afternoon at J.E. Reeves Jr. Field.
Immaculata jumped out to an early advantage with a pair of goals from Marissa Sozzi in the opening three minutes. Centenary quickly responded in the ninth minute when Fogarty converted a free kick to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Cyclones continued to create opportunities following the goal, with Taylor Fallon and Emily Piser each recording shots over the next five minutes. Immaculata added its third goal in the 23rd minute to take a 3-1 advantage into halftime.
The Mighty Macs extended their lead early in the second half before adding two more goals to close out the 6-1 final.
Fogarty finished with Centenary's lone shot on goal, while Fallon and Piser each added an attempt. Naveah O'Keefe played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded six saves.
Centenary moves to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
