The Centenary University women's soccer team was unable to overcome a fast start from Fairleigh Dickinson University, falling 5-0 in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.
FDU wasted no time applying pressure, scoring just 48 seconds into the contest and setting the tone early. The Devils continued to control possession and tempo, finding the back of the net multiple times as the game wore on.
The Cyclones' best chance came from Amy Kim, who tallied the team's lone shot on goal in the match. Despite being pinned in their own half for much of the game, Centenary showed resilience in the defensive third, highlighted by a strong performance from goalkeeper Emma Ferfecki. The senior stood tall in net, recording 20 saves to keep the Cyclones within striking distance as long as possible.
With the loss, Centenary looks to regroup as they prepare for their upcoming slate of games. The Cyclones will aim to bounce back with sharper offensive execution and build on Ferfecki's stellar play between the posts.
