Hackettstown, N.J: The Centenary University women's soccer team erupted for a season-high seven goals in a commanding 7-1 victory over Brooklyn College on Saturday afternoon at J.E. Reeves Jr. Field.
The Cyclones (2–3–1) wasted little time asserting themselves, outshooting the Bulldogs 26–0 in the opening half. Lesly Carillo-Garcia opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and Liliana Flores doubled the lead in the 24th minute off a feed from Jenna Magrino.
Centenary's attack came alive after halftime, with Flores scoring three goals in a 15-minute span (48', 49', 50') to record her second hat trick of the season. She finished the day with four goals and one assist. Magrino (64') and Taylor Fallen (84') picked up their firsts of the season to complete the Cyclones' scoring.
The Centenary offense peppered Brooklyn with 40 shots on goal while the defense limited the Bulldogs to just three attempts. Goalkeeper Emma Ferfecki made one save to earn the win.
The Cyclones will return to action on Tuesday when they host NJCU.
