The Centenary University men's soccer team opened their 2025 campaign on the road Thursday afternoon, falling 3-0 to Penn College in a tough non-conference matchup.
Despite a determined effort from the Cyclones, the Wildcats controlled the pace of the match early and never looked back, capitalizing on key opportunities to build a commanding lead. Centenary's defense was tested throughout, with Penn College applying consistent pressure across both halves.
The Cyclones' lone shot on goal came from senior captain Jason Vella, who looked to spark his squad with a strong individual effort in the second half. Vella's leadership remained evident throughout the match as he worked tirelessly to rally the team against a high-powered Penn College attack.
Centenary will look to regroup and bounce back quickly as they prepare for their home opener on Friday, September 6th at 3:00 PM. The Cyclones will be eager to feed off the home crowd and turn the page on their early setback as they continue their 2025 campaign.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they return to action and aim to defend their home turf.
