Immaculata, Pa.: The Centenary University women's soccer team dropped its Atlantic East Conference opener on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 2-0 to Immaculata.
Centenary (3-5-2, 0-1 AEC) managed just two shots on the afternoon, both on goal, while Immaculata fired 28 total shots, including 14 on target. Goalkeeper Emma Ferfecki kept the Cyclones within striking distance throughout the match, finishing with an impressive 11 saves.
Defensively, Centenary battled hard but was unable to generate sustained possession in the attacking third. Midfielders Jessica Smith and Alissandra Auletta recorded the Cyclones' two shots on frame, both saved by Immaculata keeper.
The Cyclones will look to rebound on Wednesday, Oct. 8, when they return home to host Neumann University in another Atlantic East Conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. at J.E. Reeves Jr. Field.
