The Centenary University women's soccer team put together a commanding performance Wednesday afternoon, earning their first conference victory of the season with an 8-0 win over St. Elizabeth. The Cyclones dominated from start to finish, controlling possession, tempo, and momentum throughout the match.
Sophomore forward
Jenna Magrino led the offensive explosion, netting four goals in a career-best outing that showcased her finishing ability and relentless energy in the attacking third. Senior
Liliana Flores added to the scoring surge with two goals of her own, providing veteran leadership and offensive spark.
Rounding out the scoring for Centenary were
Lesly Carillo-Garcia and
Elizabeth Fogarty, who each found the back of the net to cap off the Cyclones' most complete performance of the season.
Defensively, the Cyclones stayed organized and composed, limiting St. Elizabeth to minimal scoring chances and preserving the clean sheet. The win not only snaps a rough start to conference play but also lifts Centenary to 1-3 in the conference, marking an important step forward as the team looks to build momentum for the second half of the season.
With confidence running high after the eight-goal outburst, the Cyclones will aim to carry their offensive rhythm and defensive discipline into their next matchup.
