Men's Basketball Mounts A Comeback To Beat Dickinson

Carlisle, PA: The Cyclones picked up their first win of the season on the road against Dickinson College. The final score of the contest was, 81-73 as their record improves to 1-2 on the season. 

Inside the Box Score

The Cyclones would conclude the first half facing a ten point deficit against the Red Devils, 28-38.After halftime adjustments by the coaching staff, the Clones would flip the script in the second half, outscoring the Red Devils 53-35.In the dominant Cyclones second half performance, the team shot 50% from the floor, making fourteen of their twenty-eight attempts. The Clones closed out the contest by going on a 35-17 run, against Dickinson. The Cyclones would also create more opportunities for themselves at the free throw line, drawing contact from Dickinson defenders. At the line, the Cyclones shot twenty-five of thirty for the evening. The Cyclones would also do a solid job scoring inside the paint, as they ended the night with twenty-eight points. A total of thirty-nine points were scored from the bench, to aid the Clones in picking up the win. For the first time in recent years, the Cyclones overcame a double digit deficit to earn a win. With the overhauled roster from the 2023-24 season, the Cyclones have shown a lot more fight in their first three games of the season, that their current record does not reflect. The Cyclones will look to build off of the momentum from this huge victory as they enter a short break, before their next game. 

Game Standouts

Kenneth Rankin once again scored at will, posting twenty-four points. Rankin currently leads the conference with sixty-seven total points on the season, across three games. 

Naire Preston was a key contributor off the bench, scoring nineteen points for the Cyclones in twenty minutes of action. Preston made a three point shot, to put the Cyclones ahead of the Red Devils.

Senior Captain, Shawn Falk recorded twelve points after being sidelined in the FDU Tip-Off due to injury. Falk shot 3-4 from the floor (2-2 3PT), and 4-5 from the line. 

Michael Salvatore would also provide a spark for the Cyclones, recording seven points off the bench, six total rebounds, and a team best four assists.
