Softball Splits On Day One Of Atlantic East Tournament

Arlington, VA: Centenary finished the regular season ranked fifth in the Atlantic East Conference. The Cyclones traveled to Arlington, Virginia to take on Marymount and Marywood in the Atlantic East Tournament, as they look to advance to the AEC Championship next weekend. 

On day one of the tournament, the Cyclones split the doubleheader as they would dominate #2 Seeded Marymount, 7-1. They would then fall to #3 Seeded Marywood, by a score of 8-5. 

In the Circle 

Julia Campen would get the start in both games throwing eleven total innings, allowing just three earned runs, on eleven hits across both games. Kelly Ann Earrusso would come in relief of Campen with runners on first and second in the bottom of the fifth inning. Earrusso would toss two innings, allowing four base hits and four earned runs. 

Swingin' Clones 

Stealing the show offensively would be Carolyn Rosenberg who ended day one of the tournament, 5-for-6 at the plate with three runs batted in across the two games. Jayden Pennella would enjoy a 4-for-7 day with two extra base hits. In her first start of the season, senior Jenna Glinko batted .500 (4-for-8), with three runs batted in and three runs scored.

The Cyclones will take on the Marywood Pacers in a win or go home game, Saturday, May 6th.
