HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. –
Alissandra Auletta scored her first collegiate goal to lead the Centenary University women's soccer team in a hard-fought 5-2 loss to Bryn Athyn College on Thursday afternoon.
The Cyclones struck first in this one as
Kylie Barber played a ball forward into the box that Auletta collected and punched home for the 1-0 advantage.
Bryn Athyn evened things up with about 10 minutes to go before the half on a
Devon Morris goal.
The two teams continued to battle and went into the half tied at 1-1.
Back-to-back goals from
Maria Storck to start the second half gave Bryn Athyn a 3-1 advantage.
The Cyclones got one of those goals back at the 60:19 mark as
Ashley D'Allesandro scored off a corner kick that was inserted by
Eve Haddad.
Bryn Athyn used a pair of goals from
Ashley Rivera to increase its advantage to 5-2 in the 69th minute.
Centenary got off a late shot but Bryn Athyn came up with the save and closed out the 5-2 win.
Breanna Smith played the second half in goal for the Lions and earned the win after making one save.
Chloe Munyon started and made six stops in the first half.
Chelsea Estacio took the loss after making five saves in 68:37.
Emma Ferfecki made the first appearance of her career in net and recorded two saves.
Centenary gets right back after it as the Cyclones host Rowan on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m.
