Women's Soccer Falls to NYU

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – New York University scored four times in the first 20 minutes of the game and picked up a big victory over the Centenary University women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon.

The Violets jumped out to a 7-0 lead at the half and eventually secured a 12-0 victory.

Gabriella Funk and Hunter Hoelscher each had a goal and an assist in the first half for the visitors.

Chelsea Estacio made eight saves in the first half, which matched her season-high.

Isa Badillo scored her second of the day in the second half while Rena Kalargiros had a pair of second half tallies.

Riley Felsher started in goal for NYU and was not forced to make a save in the first half. Tyler Hawkins made one save in the second half for the visitors. Emma Ferfecki, who replaced Estacio to start the second half, made five saves in the second 45 minutes.

Centenary returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 28 when it hosts Pratt at 4 p.m.
