Weiss Scores as Men's Soccer Falls to Stockton

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Jacob Weiss scored his first career goal to lead the Centenary University men's soccer team in a loss to Stockton University on Sunday afternoon.

The Ospreys jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the half and eventually settled for the 7-1 win.

Peter Kozlej had a pair of goals and an assist in the first 45 minutes of that contest which led the Ospreys' efforts.

Andrew Tarkazikis made five first half saves for the Cyclones.

Stockton struck first in the second half as Drew Greenblatt scored in the 52nd minute.

Centenary broke through in the 65th minute as Weiss took a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar. The ball came right back to Weiss and he was able to poke home a low shot for the goal.

The Cyclones continued to press but were unable to find the back of the net again. Stockton scored one more to close out the 7-1 win.

Liam Brett started and played the first half in goal for Stockton and did not need to make a save. Branden Langley gave up the goal for the Ospreys while Jack Gabler made one save.

In addition to Tarkazikis' five saves, the Cyclones got three saves from Brandon Parra. Andrew Kmetz did not make a save in his two plus minutes of work.

Centenary returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 21 when it hosts Rutgers Newark at 4 p.m.
