Strong Team Performance Leads Women's Soccer to 3-0 Win Over Cairn

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Brelyn Cusano had a first half goal and an assist to help the Centenary University women's soccer team earn a 3-0 victory over Cairn University on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Cyclones snapped a four-game losing streak and picked up their first victory of the season.

The Cyclones and Highlanders battled early on with Centenary getting on the board first in the 14th minute of the game. Cusano played a cross into the box that Ashley D'Allesandro was able to head home into the far corner of the goal for a 1-0 advantage.

Centenary extended its advantage to 2-0 in the 16th minute as Cusano was able to lift a free kick up and over the defenders and into the goal for her second tally of the year.

The home team continued to pressure and carried that 2-0 advantage into the half.

The Cyclones were able to tack on one more goal in the second half as Anna Blakely played a ball into Liliana Flores, who struck for the goal.

A strong defensive pressure held up as Centenary secured the 3-0 victory.
