HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University softball team closed out the Atlantic East portion of their schedule with an impressive doubleheader sweep of Gwynedd Mercy University on Saturday afternoon.

With the wins, the Cyclones qualified for the Atlantic East Conference Tournament.

Game One Recap (Centenary Won 3-2 in 9 innings):
The first six innings of game-one were a pitchers duel as both teams had their chances but neither could push a run a cross.

Gwynedd Mercy finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh as Abigail McCoy's RBI single gave the visitors an early advantage.

Centenary found the answer in its half of the seventh as Kaitlyn Knauer had an RBI double that scored Cosenzo.

Both teams put a run on the board in the eighth and the game was knotted at 2-2.

After Julia Campen retired the Griffins in the top of the ninth, the Cyclones went to work in the bottom half of that frame. Cosenzo reached on a walk and a one-out double from Carolyn Rosenberg moved her to third.

Lenahan then dropped a single into right that scored Cosenzo with the winning run.

Campen picked up the win as she allowed two runs on eight hits while striking out seven. Jocelyn Baumeister took the loss as she gave up three runs on 12 hits.

Lenahan and Passante each had two hits and an RBI for the Cyclones.

Game Two Recap (Centenary Won 8-0):
Centenary jumped out to an early lead in this one with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. Cosenzo had an sac fly while Rosenberg had an RBI single.
