HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. –
Brooke Bode had a goal and four draw controls to lead the Centenary University women's lacrosse team in its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opener against Wilson on Saturday afternoon.
Wilson used a big run over the middle stretch of the game to secure a 19-4 win.
The Cyclones got on the board first in this one as
Kristin Bell scored her third of the year at the 13:54 mark of the first.
Unfortunately for the home team, the Phoenix responded with the game's next 15 goals in a run that bridged the first through four quarters.
Emily Young scored five during that stretch while
Sage Lague struck for four.
Centenary scored three times in the final 15 minutes of the game, as
Zaairah Lamothe scored twice and Bode contributed a goal and an assist.
Delaney Fulfer and
Krystal Kienast combined for seven saves to secure the win for Wilson.
Jenyfer Pereira made eight saves in the first half for the Cyclones while
Chloe Neubauer made four stops in the second half.
Young finished with five goals and one assist for Wilson. She also contributed five ground balls, four caused turnovers and two draw controls. Lague added six goals, five draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Lamothe had a team-high two goals, three draw controls and a caused turnover while Bode finished with a goal, an assist and four draw controls.
The Cyclones are back in action on Saturday, Apr. 9 when they visit Sweet Briar for an 11 a.m. game.
