HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. –
Sean Menjivar and
Yousef Fahmi each scored a goal to lead the Centenary University men's lacrosse team in a loss to Marymount University in Atlantic East action on Thursday afternoon.
The game was called midway through the third quarter as strong storms rolled through the area. Marymount had jumped out to a 9-0 lead after one period of action and claimed the 17-2 win.
Charlie Wittich and
Hunter Ralston each scored a pair of goals in the first 15 minutes of the contest.
Centenary got on the board in the second as Menjivar scored off a pass from
Brandon Verderber and Fahmi tucked one home.
Marymount led 16-2 at the half.
The Saints added one third period goal before the game was called.
Brandon Hall started the game in goal and made two saves for the Saints.
Travis Austin made five saves for the Cyclones while
Zeke Giorlando had six saves in relief action.
Ralston led Marymount with three goals while Wittich and
Jack Mattimore each scored two goals.
Dylan Staley won 13 faceoffs and scooped up nine ground balls.
Giorlando added three ground balls and two caused turnovers to go with his six saves while
Christopher Festa had a ground ball and a caused turnover.
Centenary is back in action when it visits Immaculata on Wednesday, Apr. 20 at 7 p.m.
