RADNOR, Pa. – Senior
Victoria Jacobs scored a team-high 12 points but the Centenary University women's basketball team was unable to contain a hot shooting Cabrini University squad in an Atlantic East loss on Wednesday night. The Cavaliers shot 51.5% en route to the 87-45 win over the Cyclones.
The Cavaliers jumped out to an early 13-0 lead in the contest and took a 20-8 advantage after 10 minutes of action.
Cabrini had the hot shooting hand in period two as the Cavaliers had a field goal percentage of 60% and took a 51-16 lead at the break.
Jacobs scored all 12 of her points in the second half to pace the Cyclones as Cabrini was able to maintain its advantage over the final 20 minutes of action and claim the 87-45 win.
Centenary shot just 29.7% from the field and made 1-of-2 chances from the foul line. Cabrini shot 51.5% from the field and was aided by 12 three-pointers made. The Cavaliers won the rebounding battle, 49-31.
Jacobs added five rebounds to go with her 12 points for the Cyclones. Sophomore
Salma Eddahiri had four points and five assists while junior
Carmen Escano had eight points and seven rebounds.
Hannah Fenstermacher led Cabrini with 22 points and five rebounds.
It's a quick turnaround for the Cyclones as they host Marymount tomorrow at 6 p.m.
