HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Centenary University volleyball team extended its win streak to five straight matches with a pair of 3-0 wins over Lehman College on Saturday afternoon.
It's the first five match win streak by the Cyclones' program since the 2008 team. It also improved the Cyclones' record this fall to 9-9, it's the most wins by a Centenary program since the 2011 squad won 15 matches.
Centenary won the first match of the day by set scores of 25-18, 25-14 and 25-15.
Jessica Simpson led the Cyclones with seven kills in that contest while
Mya Burnett added six kills.
Alyssa Bizzarro finished with five kills and 14 digs while
Martina Josifoska led the defensive efforts with 18 digs.
Vanessa Pagano posted 15 assists, seven digs and three service aces.
Heder Rodriguez had 12 assists and 15 digs for Lehman.
The Cyclones earned a 25-8, 25-17 and 25-10 victory in match two versus the Lightning. Centenary had 12 service aces in the contest, including seven from Pagano.
Bizzarro led the Cyclones with 11 kills and six digs while Simpson chipped in eight kills. Pagano added 15 assists to go with her seven aces while Josifoska had 21 digs.
Rodriguez added three kills, four assists and eight digs for the Lightning.
The Cyclones are back at it on Tuesday, Oct. 18 when they travel to Neumann for a 7 p.m. match.
