Lucibello Has Career Day as Men's Basketball Falls to Pratt

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Senior Harrison Lucibello had a career-high 29 points but Pratt Institute was able to hold off the Centenary University men's basketball team for a 76-71 win on Saturday afternoon.

Lucibello had a career-best 29 points and 13 rebounds and was one of three Cyclones to record a double-double in the contest.

The Cyclones and Cannoneers went back-and-forth early in this contest. Senior Tyler White converted a traditional three-point play at 15:05 which gave Centenary a 10-8 lead.

The two teams were locked in a tight battle as neither team was able to take a lead of more than four points in the contest.

A bucket from senior Billy Veras at 5:34 gave the Cyclones an 18-16 edge.

Pratt battled back and took a 26-22 advantage on a Patrick O'Gorman three-pointer at 2:14.

Back-to-back triples from Lucibello and White put the home team on top, 28-26 with 1:25 left until the half.

Pratt scored four of the final five points in the stanza and took a 30-29 edge at the break.

The two sides continued their back-and-forth battle to start the second half. Five points from Lucibello put the home team on top, 34-32 with 18:29 to go in the game.

A triple from Veras at 15:18 allowed the Cyclones to grab a 40-37 lead.

A jumper from sophomore Tyler Clark at 11:32 tied the game at 46-46.

Five straight points from Lucibello gave the home team a 51-48 advantage with 9:44 to go.

A lay-up from sophomore Isaac Poueriet at 8:42 tied the game at 53-53.

Pratt scored 10 of the next 13 points in the game and grabbed a 63-56 lead with 6:34 to go.

Centenary scored six of the next eight points and cut its deficit to three, 65-62 with 3:46 showing on the clock.

The two teams traded points down the stretch as Pratt was able to hold on for the 76-71 win.

Centenary shot 34.8% from the field and was 17-for-22 from the foul line. Pratt shot 48.4% from the field and was 10-for-15 from the foul line. The Cyclones held a 43-41 edge in the rebounding battle.

Lucibello scored a game-high 29 points to go along with 13 rebounds and four assists for the Cyclones. Veras added 19 points and 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the year. Poueriet had 10 points and 10 rebounds while White had 11 points and three assists.

Daniel Golub had 25 points and 13 rebounds for Pratt.

Centenary is back in action on Monday, Jan. 17 when it hosts St. Joseph's Long Island at 7 p.m.
