Women's Lacrosse Falls to Notre Dame (Md.) in CSAC Semifinals

BALTIMORE, Md. – Attacker Kaylee Bennett scored a pair of goals to lead the Centenary University women's lacrosse team in a loss to Notre Dame (Md.) in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinals. The Cyclones were making their first appearance in the CSAC Tournament since 2016.

The Gators jumped out to an 16-1 lead at the half and secured an 18-4 win.

With Notre Dame leading 1-0, the Cyclones got on the board for the first time with Bennett's 17th goal of the season at 28:15.

The Gators then scored the final 15 goals of the half. Sara Morales had four goals and an assist for Notre Dame during the half.

Notre Dame scored the first two goals of the second half and extended their lead to 18-1.

Midfielder Kristin Bell potted Centenary's second goal of the game at 20:57.

Bennett notched her second of the day at 11:49 and made it an 18-3 game.

Attacker Christine Manser found the back of the net at 2:10 and made it an 18-4 game. That proved to be the final margin on the scoreboard.

Marie Salas made six saves to earn the win in goal for the Gators. Jenyfer Pereira made seven saves in the loss for the Cyclones.

Morales led Notre Dame with five goals and two assists for seven points while also adding four draw controls. Kelsey Campbell had four goals and three draw controls.

Bennett had two goals and a draw control for the Cyclones while Bell finished with a goal and three draw controls. Defender Cailin O'Hara turned in a strong game with three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
