SCRANTON, Pa. – Freshman
Cassandra Ferguson scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season for the Centenary University women's soccer team in Saturday's game at Marywood in Atlantic East Conference action.
The Pacers opened up a 4-0 halftime lead and eventually claimed the 8-1 victory.
Madison Blackshire had a goal and an assist to help Marywood open up the halftime advantage.
Junior
Chelsea Estacio started the game in goal for the Cyclones and made five saves in first 45 minutes of the contest.
Marywood scored the first two goals of the second half and extended its lead to 6-0 at the 66:39.
Centenary broke through at the 67:21 mark as senior
Jill Pullis fed a pass into Ferguson and she one tapped it home.
Marywood tacked on two more goals in the final 10 minutes for the 8-1 win.
Rebekah Becker started the game in goal for the Pacers and made two saves in 70:28.
Victoria Talarico made one save in relief action. In addition to Estacio's five saves, the Cyclones got two saves in second half action from graduate student
Chelsea Cordice.
The Cyclones are back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 27 when they travel to Gwynedd Mercy for a 6 p.m. game.
