Haddad's Goal Lifts Women's Soccer Past Cairn, 2-1

FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa. – Freshman Eve Haddad's goal broke a 1-1 tie and lifted the Centenary University women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Cairn University on Saturday afternoon.

The Cyclones applied the pressure early in this one as they made Isabelle Lazor record five saves in the first 25 minutes of the game.

Centenary got on the board in the 40th minute as Haddad found senior Jill Pullis with a pass. Pullis knocked it home for her fifth goal of the season and a 1-0 Centenary lead.

Senior Rachel Colt made a pair of first half saves to help the Cyclones carry that 1-0 edge into the halftime break.

The Cyclones continued to apply the pressure with four shots to start the second period.

However, it was Cairn who scored next. The Highlanders got a goal from Dakota Hitchner at 61:27 and that tied the game at 1-1.

Centenary wasted little time in going back on top. Haddad's fourth goal of the year in the 65th minute put the Cyclones ahead, 2-1.

That proved to be the game-winner as the Cyclones secured the 2-1 victory.

Colt started the game and made two saves for the Cyclones. Junior Chelsea Estacio played the second half in cage and made one save. Lazor finished with six saves for Cairn.

Haddad led the Cyclones with three points on the goal and assist.

Centenary is back in action on Monday, Oct. 18 when it travels to William Paterson for a 6 p.m. game.
